Title of the Workshop:
Data Driven Instruction
Intended Audience:
Teachers
and Administrators K-12
Overview:
Too many teachers are
afraid of data – they do not know how to effectively use it to inform teaching
and learning. This workshop examines the Data Action Model proposed by Daniel R.
Venables as a teacher-friendly, systematic process for reviewing and responding
to data in cycles. Enriched with how to use formative and summative assessments
to enhance student learning, it encourages teachers to move away from the “dataphobia,
hold professional conversations, and use data in an effective way. Easy to use
templates and protocols are also available for implementation.
