Title of the Workshop: Alternative and Authentic Assessments
Intended Audience:
Teachers
and Administrators K-12
Overview:
Transition
to meaningful assessment practices as you move away from the traditional paper
and pencil evaluations. These practices not only assess student learning of the
subject’s content or skill, they are an engaging form that require application
of what students have learned to a new situation (performance-based
assessment), and can offer choice to honor the learner’s learning style and
preferences. A guide to developing rubrics for projects and presentations is
also offered.
